A growing list of drugmakers is turning to Nvidia's hardware to speed up how new medicines are discovered and developed.
According to simplywall.st, Certara (CERT) has entered an AI partnership with Nvidia that the outlet frames as potentially reshaping the company's long-term drug development narrative. Certara is known for the modeling and simulation software that pharmaceutical companies use to predict how drugs behave before and during clinical testing.
The move lands amid a broader wave. Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY) has expanded its own AI collaboration with Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), announcing plans to deploy an Nvidia DGX SuperPOD powered by DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, according to reporting published on Yahoo Finance. Contract Pharma similarly reported that BMS is deploying Nvidia DGX Vera Rubin systems to accelerate AI-powered research and development, while Benzinga described the effort as Bristol Myers "supercharging" drug discovery with Nvidia AI. FirstWord Pharma noted that BMS is again turning to Nvidia to ramp up its AI compute.
BioPharma Dive reports that Bristol Myers is the third pharmaceutical company to recently seek Nvidia's help building a large AI data center — an "AI factory" — signaling that access to heavy computing power is becoming a competitive lever in the industry.
The common thread across these announcements is that drug companies increasingly see specialized AI infrastructure, rather than laboratory work alone, as central to finding and advancing new treatments. For Certara, which supplies the software layer many of these companies rely on, aligning with Nvidia could position it closer to that shift.
