Anthropic has received U.S. government approval to restore access to its Mythos AI system, according to PYMNTS.com.
The clearance specifically covers the Claude Mythos 5 model, which Telecompaper reports has been cleared for release to a selected set of organizations rather than the general public.
PCMag Australia reports that Mythos 5 is now available again. The same report notes that there is no timeline for Fable 5.
The details across the three reports are limited, but together they describe a regulatory go-ahead: U.S. authorities signed off, and Anthropic is now able to put a model that had been restricted back into the hands of certain users.
Why it matters: when a government has to clear an AI model before a company can offer it, even to a narrow group of organizations, it signals that advanced AI is increasingly treated as something subject to official approval rather than a product a company can simply ship on its own timeline.
